One-Day Painting Workshops

Outdoor Workshops 2010 Schedule

Short on time? Try one of these mini outdoor painting experiences on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Come experience the joy of watercolor painting outdoors. We'll be painting on location at beautiful places. No painting experience needed.

 

Four Fridays,     9:30-12:30  
May 21 Castle Rock, Marblehead
Directions to site:  Follow Route 114 into Marblehead.  At Ocean  Ave., take a right.  There will be a traffic light there and a big  firestation on your right.  Follow Ocean Ave across the Causeway.   Bear right at the end of the Causeway.  You will be on Marblehead  Neck.  Follow the road for about a 1/4 of a mile.  On your right you  will see a stone castle behind an iron fence.  Park there.  After the  castle, take a right and walk down the path to Castle Rock.
   
May 28 Fort Sewall, Marblehead
Directions to site:Follow Route 114 into Marblehead where it becomes Pleasant St..  Follow to end.  Take left onto Washington St. and next right onto State St.  At end of State St., take left onto  Front St. Follow almost to end.  You will see a small parking lot on your left.  Park there if possible.  Go up the hill and bear to your right.  You will enter Fort Sewall.
   
June  4    Salem Willows, Salem
Directions to site:  From the center of Salem on Route 114 when the  Salem Post Office is on your left, stay straight through light onto  Derby Street.  You will pass through another light and continue on  Derby St. going passed Pickering Wharf following Derby St. passed the  electric power plant and sewerage treatment plant heading toward  Salem Willows.  When you come to a three way fork in the road, you  want to stay in the middle and go onto Columbus Ave.  A short way  down the street, you will come to an inlet and marsh on your right,  we will meet here.  Park on the street.
   
June 18     

Ropes Mansion Gardens,  Salem 

Directions to site:  Heading east on Rt. 114, after you cross over the bridge into Salem, you will come to a light.  At this intersection, the Witch House will be on your right.  Take a right onto Essex St.  The Ropes Mansion is after the Unitarian Church on your right.  It is a white house with a beautiful white fence surrounding it.  The gardens are in the back.  Parking is limited here but if you drive up toward the library which is a block up, you can park there.  Drop off your equipment first.
   
Two Saturdays, 9:30-12:30
   
August 7 Glen Magna Farms, Ingersoll St., Danvers
Directions to site: Take Route 128 North to Route 62 Exit. Head towards Danvers.  Follow Route 62 for about 3 miles.  Look for blinking yellow light hanging from wire over road.  Take left there onto Forrest St.  Follow Forest St. to the end.  Take a right onto Hobart St.  Then, second right onto Centre St.  Then, second right onto Ingersoll St.  Follow to parking lot.  We will meet there.
   
Sept. 11 Lynch Park, Beverly
Directions to site: Follow 1A through Salem or take Bridge St. in Salem.  Cross over the bridge heading towards Beverly.  At light after bridge, bear to the right.  Take a right at the next light onto Rt. 127.  Go to end of street and turn left.  Follow along ocean until the next light where you take a right.  Then take next right onto Ober St.  Lynch Park is a little ways down the street on the right.  Look for stone pillars.  Meet in parking lot.
