Rockin' Romans

Take a trip back to Ancient Rome, one of the most powerful civilizations of all time. Learn about how the Romans dressed and then throw a toga party. Create aqueducts and one of Hannibal’s elephants. Design a Roman army helmet. Create a catapult and slingshot. Make Mt. Vesuvius erupt. Learn how to count Roman style while you speak a little Latin. You’ll get to work with a lot of different art materials while you learn about how Ancient Romans lived and worked. Wear old clothes.
Mysterious Mayans

Step back in time to when the Mayans ruled the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico and unravel some of the mysteries of these people of the rainforest. Create Mayan headdresses, Mayan pots, and stepped pyramids. Learn about the Feathered Serpent god and the Moon goddess and others and then make your own version. Design a stela and your own Mayan weaving. Make a calendar, like the Mayans, based on the movement of the moon and the stars. Design a Mayan shirt and jade jewelry. Wear old clothes. Bring an old white pillowcase to class.
Heat It Up! February Vacation Camp Ages 6-10

Escape to warm tropical places at least in your imagination. In this vacation art camp, you'll sail away on boats you create to places where you can feel the warm sun and sand. You'll get to play in the water as you create scenes from our visit. You'll plant, build castles, and put on your beach wear as we make tropical art using lots of different materials. Wear your sunglasses. A materials fee of $10 is due the first day.
